Thomas LeviThomas J. Levi is a 1976 graduate of UW-Madison Law School. He wants to put his 36 years of experience in estate planning, elder law, probate and guardianships, real estate law and development to work for you to resolve your legal problems in an effective, economical and efficient manner.

After serving as the City Attorney for the City of Watertown for the last 32 years, Tom has an expertise in dealing with town and municipal governments for clients with issues regarding local governments. Tom also represents a number of local banks and small businesses and can assist his clients in the legal elements involving their operations. Tom concentrates his practice in estate planning, real estate law, municipal law, and commercial litigation.

Over his time in Watertown, Tom has also been active in community affairs. He is a former Cub Scout Cub Master for Pack 58 and a Boy Scout leader and Scout Master for Troop 43 in Watertown. Tom has also been active in his church on several councils and is currently a Trustee of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Congregation. Tom has been a founding, charter member of the Watertown Area Community Foundation and has served on its Board of Directors and as its legal counsel from 1991 through the present. The Watertown Area Community Foundation funds scholarships for high school graduates and engages in other community and civic projects, especially related to parks and recreation.

Tom is a charter member and past President of the Crossroads House Transitional Shelter for the homeless of Watertown and is currently a member of its Board of Directors. Tom has been active in this organization since its founding in 1999. He was also a member of the Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity program for 14 years, serving as a Board member and legal counsel. Tom is currently and has been a member of the Watertown Rotary Club and its past President. Tom has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross-Watertown Chapter.

Prior to establishing his law practice in Watertown in 1980, Tom was formerly an Assistant District Attorney for Rock County Wisconsin in Janesville, Wisconsin for three and half years and an Assistant State Public Defender in Beloit Wisconsin for a year and a half. In that context he gained a lot of experience conducting jury trials and other litigation.

Tom is a member and three-term President of the Jefferson County Bar Association, and a member of the Dodge County Bar Association. He is active in the State Bar of Wisconsin and serves on the Committee for the Resolution of Fee Disputes (2000 – present) to assist clients and attorneys to resolve fee disputes through impartial arbitration panels throughout the State of Wisconsin.

Tom has two adult children who are gainfully pursuing their own dreams. In his spare time, Tom enjoys hiking, backpacking, travel, reading, good conversation and teaching in community service projects.
