Attorney Julia Chidley is a partner at the firm, specializing in family law, business law, probate, debtor-creditor relationships, and real estate law. Her passion is litigation.
Prior to and during law school, she worked as a paralegal for a general practice law firm for five years, gaining intense hands-on practical experience in the legal areas of probate, criminal law, personal injury, bankruptcy, and family law.
She is admitted to the Wisconsin Bar and to the Eastern and Western Federal Districts of Wisconsin.
A magna cum laude graduate of Marquette University Law School, she was on the Dean’s List every semester, and, because of her distinguished academic achievements, she received a Marquette Law School scholarship for two consecutive years.
While in law school, Julia also earned three Computer Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) awards for achieving the highest grades in her class in classes for Laws of Remedies; Parent, Child, and State; and Criminal Process. She also served as a member and an associate editor for Marquette Law Review.
Julia was invited as a speaker on grandparents’, step-parents’, and other third parties’ child-related rights at the WPHA 2016 Annual Conference; she taught classes on family law to the paralegal program at Madison Area Technical College.
In addition to her legal training, Julia is certified in grief therapy through the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals. This training provides her with the ability to better understand and help her clients and their families deal with the emotional challenges of their divorce.
Julia is married and has a daughter to whom she is deeply devoted. Julia is fluent in the Russian and Ukrainian languages. She enjoys hiking, hot yoga, camping, bowling, Wild West reenactments, and traveling.
